Peer-Mediated Professional Development : An Intercultural Experience
This retired teacher from the CÉGEP de Sherbrooke discusses a project she conducted with young Kenyan teachers from 2009 to 2013 in cooperation with Canadian NGO Education Beyond Borders. The experience allowed, not only for the sharing of teaching practices, but also for reflection, the exploration of new strategies, and the discovery of diverging world views. Thanks to the establishment of communities of practice and the training of local instructors, the project, which was conducted in the Laikipia region, promoted the pursuit of active-learning goals and the incorporation of ICT, in particular.
The Centre de documentation collégiale (CDC) offers an extensive collection of documents on college-level education and on education in general, produced by professionals in leading facilities and organizations.
